CT RO is a vertical open channel module technology with thin film composite membrane cushions separated with a unique 45° open channel spacer rolled around a centre collector core.
The feed/brine is fed through a dual channel. The super position of the two feed channels is specifically designed to combine advantages of open channel technology and higher packing density of common membrane elements. The stream across the membrane is flowing equally through two feed channels under 45° angle creating turbulences and shear forces reducing fouling to its absolute minimum. CT Module design offers many advantages compared to other conventional modules such as tubular, plate and frame and hollow fiber module designs also used with reverse osmosis applications in water treatment.
The unique 45° angle double channel spacer configuration leads to lower fouling potential, longer cleaning intervals and long membrane life time even in the most difficult water applications. The main advantage is larger surface area/ LMH thereby reducing the no of membrane modules.
